Main Purpose of Role
We are looking to recruit an Electronic Inspector to work in a fast-moving production environment, inspecting PCB assemblies to IPC-A-610 (Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies) visually and via Automated Optical Inspection (AOI), and programmes the AOI from engineering data.
Main Tasks and Duties
- Inspect PCB assemblies to IPC-A-610 (Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies) Class II and Class III
- Create consistent reliable new AOI programmes with minimal false calls to create reliable AOI programmes
- Flexibility to meet business needs

- IPC-A-610 (Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies)
Skills and Abilities
- Accurate consistent assembly to target times
- Computer literacy with ability to learn new software – internal database use is required
- Excellent attention to detail
Experience and Knowledge
- Experience of inspecting boards to IPC-A-610 standard. (Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies)
Personal Qualities
- Willing to work as part of a team.
- Adaptable to change.
- Good communication and reporting skills

Working Relationships
This post will work closely with the Inspection Supervisor, Production Manager, Through Hole team, Quality Manager and Production staff.
Terms and Conditions:
- This is a permanent full-time appointment.
- The Contract of Employment will be based on the provisions of the Prototype Electronics Ltd Terms and Conditions and contract.
- The salary for this post will be in the range of dependent on skills and experience
- Working Hours will be: 39 hours per week – Mon-Thurs 7am – 5:15pm.
- The annual leave entitlement will be 5.6 weeks per annum to be taken during the period 1 January to 31 December inc agreed Statutory Bank Holidays and company closure days.
- The appointment is subject to the satisfactory completion of a 3-month Probationary Period with interim reviews after 1 and 2 months.
- The notice period will be statutory on either side.
- Membership of the NEST pension is available.
- The appointment is subject to the company receiving satisfactory references.
