At Prototype Electronics, we are proud to prioritise our staff’s mental health and wellbeing. Over the past 12 months, we’ve made a real effort to ensure mental health is never a taboo topic in the workplace. Earlier this year, our directors and senior management team completed the FAA Level 2 Award in First Aid for Mental Health, equipping us to recognise and support our workforce whenever needed.
As part of our commitment, we decided to host a charity fundraising event for Dorset Mind and dedicate an afternoon for our team to relax, have fun, and connect. The afternoon was packed with games, a delicious bake-off, and plenty of laughter. All cakes sold raised funds for Dorset Mind, and together we raised £215!
The event featured:
- A wellbeing quiz to engage and challenge our staff
- A presentation from Dorset Mind about the vital services they provide
- A serious bake-off competition, judged by our directors and senior managers
- Our very own PTE ‘Positivitree’, where staff shared what they love about working at PTE and praised their colleagues. The Positivitree now proudly decorates our main manufacturing unit in Piddlehinton.
Congratulations to our bake-off winners:
- 1st Prize: Iona & Alex Heywood
- 2nd Prize: Weronika Plocieniczak
- 3rd Prize: John Limm
And a huge shoutout to the OAK TEAM, winners of our quiz competition!

The afternoon was full of laughter, teamwork, and positive energy—a wonderful opportunity for staff to unwind while supporting a great cause. We are immensely grateful to Dorset Mind for attending and sharing insights into the many services they provide, as well as joining in the fun.
A special thank you to the Directors of Prototype Electronics Ltd for not only funding the event but also shutting down the site for the afternoon, providing refreshments, prizes, and a direct donation to Dorset Mind.
Finally, a big thank you to our organisers, Rachel Swearse, Zoe Mason, and Pam Howe, for making this event such a success. We remain committed to supporting our staff’s mental health and wellbeing and look forward to our next charity fundraising event—watch this space!
